New Sleep Guideline for Children
Sleep is important for people of all ages to stay in good health especially children.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine, with the help of a panel of experts, has released its first ever official recommendations for how much sleep children need.
“Sleep is essential for a healthy life, and it is important to promote healthy sleep habits in early childhood,” said Dr. Shalini Paruthi, Pediatric Consensus Panel moderator and fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. “It is especially important as children reach adolescence to continue to ensure that teens are able to get sufficient sleep.”
It is true that most parents and care providers are not really clear on how much sleep children should be getting.
