Many parents (myself included) worry about what their children eat — and more importantly if they are a picky eater, don’t eat. However, most kids get plenty of variety and nutrition in their diets over the course of a week. Until your child’s food preferences mature, consider these tips for preventing mealtime battles.

  1. Don’t force a child to eat – this could easily develop into a power struggle.
  2.  Prepare small portions not to overload your child.
  3. Make meal times fun.
  4. If your child has a limited diet, don’t fuss over it – it will probably change at some point!
  5. Don’t offer a dessert as a reward.
