If you have been keeping up with our recent blog posts you would have heard us mention many time the summer slide. It is reported that Students can experience learning loss when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer months. On average, students lose the equivalent of two months of math and reading skills during the summer months.
In addition to academic risks, children can also be at an increased risk of weight gain l during the summer months as they are not participating in the regular school sports programs. Remember to take advantage of the warmer weather and keep youth active outdoors.

Remember the summer is also a perfect time for your child to catch up in an area of learning that they may have been struggling in in the prior school year. It is not the time to bury your head in the sand and pretend that this will be dealt with next school year.
