Should I volunteer at my kids school?

All parents are extremely busy with the day to day running of a family, holding down a job, shopping, cleaning and much more – our to-do lists are endless. Do we really want to add another commitment to our overloaded schedules?

One area that we should not cut corners or make an excuse is volunteering at our child’s school.  Most schools rely heavily upon parents to give the teachers a helping hand, whether it be hearing children read, or extra help with math or chaperoning on a school trip.

On a person note, I loved to volunteer in my children’s schools and enjoyed field trips with them.  It was a great way to learn more about their friends, the teachers and to see how my child interacted with their peers.
